Im Krapfenwald’l

Cuckoos sound the same everywhere. Strauss heard one in Russia and put it in his piece Im Pawlowsk-Walde. Re-titled Im Krapfenwald’l, this polka has been charming the musical world since 1870. The Krapfenwaldlbad dates back to 1923, it’s the public swimming pool with the best view of Vienna. Strauss hated leaving town and probably never saw this panorama.
