A Night In Venice

Marie Geistinger was director of the Theater an der Wien and the best-known diva in German-language operetta. She starred in Strauss’ first four stage works, e.g. as Rosalinde in Fledermaus. World-famous soprano Diana Damrau invites us to a very special concert of excerpts from those four works. But Geistinger had her rivals, and Strauss secretly wrote for them too. Diana Damrau gives them their due, reflecting all the glitz and glamour of those early divas gracing traditional Viennese operetta.
